Netflix has been churning out great content lately, and they’re looking to have another incredible run this spring with films and TV shows like The Discovery, iBoy and now Imperial Dreams.
The newest film stars John Boyega as a young father trying to get his son out of the notorious Imperial Courts projects outside of Los Angeles. You might recognize Boyega from Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. He’s clearly perfected his American accent, as it looks like he put on an incredible performance based on the trailer.
The film was shot on location in the Imperial Courts Projects for authenticity, and won a Sundance Next award. Netflix calls it a “gangster fairy tale about a father’s struggle to build a better life for his son.”
