John Boyega is one of the most sought-after actors in the world. He went from his role in Attack the Block to Star Wars fame. A superhero in his own right, he's now on a press run for Pacific Rim Uprising; a movie featuring giant, fighting robots. His flexibility as an actor is noted, and fans have been hypothetically casting him as different characters. During a Reddit AMA, fans humored this idea further. With that in mind, Screenrant asked the actor how likely these are to happen.
When asked right off the bat whether he'd like a superhero role, John confirmed "I mean, yeah! I mean, that wouldn’t be a problem. I just don’t know who." When the interviewer followed up with different Black characters with possible movies on the horizon, John vouched for the ideal casting. "They’re doing a Green Lantern? (Negatively groans) Sss.. Hmmm…..Eghhh…. (Laughs) And Wesley, man. That’s Wesley for Blade. I would want to see Wesley."
Boyega seems to have a clear idea in mind for the type of character he'd like to play. It's just a matter of time for a role to align with his vision. In the meantime, you can catch Boyega in Pacific Rim Uprising in theaters on March 23rd.
