Joey Bada$$ Freestyles Over Tupac Beats
Joey Bada$$ is in the Left Coast right now, and while up at Power 106 in L.A., he was asked to spit some Breakfast Bars. If that alone isn't a good way to start your day, then consider that it's Tupac's birthday today and so Joey spit over some 'Pac instrumentals for the radio show. Watch the video above as The Cruz Show flips through a bunch of beats for Joey to rock over. It lasts a good six minutes but the NYC native does not tire. Happy birthday to Pac, who would have turned 44-years old today if he were alive.

Joey Bada$$ Feat. BJ The Chicago Kid "Like Me" Video
Joey Bada$$ just dropped off a music video for the subdued cut "Like Me", which features background vocals from BJ The Chicago Kid. He uses the visual to tell a story, which ties in well with the lyrics. We start off with the rapper meeting a girl, and the two quickly hit it off. Meanwhile, somewhere else in the city, we find a dude a scheming and robbing people at gunpoint. Both parties connect with the gunman pointing directly at Joey-- but when Joey tries to wrangle the gun from him, a shot goes off and hits a girl. The police enter the scene, and the robber himself gets shot.

Brass bands are a time-honored tradition in New Orleans. In addition to the Crescent City being consistently cited as the birthplace of jazz and blues, funerals in the city are famous for being accompanied by horn-toting processions, and you can't walk down the streets downtown without encountering someone playing a brass instrument after a few blocks. While on tour in NOLA, Joey Bada$$ got the great opportunity to perform onstage with a brass band.
