Joey pays homage to the late Notorious B.I.G on this new track "Brooklyn's Own."

19 years ago to the day hip-hop lost one its most beloved icons when Notorious B.I.G was gunned down senselessly in Los Angeles. While many fans & supporters have already taken to social media earlier today to pay tribute to the late Brooklyn King, fellow hometown spitter, Joey Bada$$, decided to pay his homage on wax instead.

Going in over the Statik Selektah-produced beat, Joey reps the hometown of Brooklyn to the fullest, showing off his rapid fire rhymes and slick flow in the process. It surfaces just days after he and another Brooklyn rapper, Troy Ave, exchanged some choice words via social media (read here ICYMI).

Quotable Lyrics:

I said, shit ain't been the same since we made Killuminati
Hex across my chest see it written across my body
Bury me in gold 47 karat casket
Resurrect my soul come back as your favorite rapper
