Lyricist and Producer Joejune whose real name is Thomas Copeland Jr. was born on January 11, 1988 in Oceanside California. His parents divorced when he was three. He was raised by his mother, Deborah Copeland, a writer in Southern California. He spent a majority of his childhood in Vista, California. Joejune was exposed to music at a very young age. Thanks to his mother he grew up listening to a wide range of music. His mom would spend hours playing big band oldies, broad way musical, 70's rock, and 80's new wave music. And like a sponge, he absorbed it all. Joejune's musical journey began with his first love classic rock. Influenced by his musical icons, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Cat Stevens, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Lou Reed, and the Mamas and the Papas, he taught himself how to play the guitar at fourteen. In 2003 Joejune and a few of his classmates formed an alternative rock band by the name of Death on Nile. He played with them for a brief period of time, and eventually ventured out to Hip Hop music in 2005. He begin writing and recording his own songs. Utilizing what he'd learned from the rock band that he was in during high school, he begin combining both hip hop and rock into his music. In the summer of 2006 a production team by the name of "Elephaders" approached Joejune regarding collaboration. Joejune created a dozen tracks with the production team and eventually started producing his own stuff. A year later Joejune moved to Murrieta, California with a few of his best friends where he met his best friend’s older brother Jay Ricks. Jay Ricks was also into Hip Hop, so they joined forces and created a Hip Hop group known as The WERCS. The group performed shows throughout San Diego for three years, and even with the creation of the group, Joejune continued to produce and work on music of his own. Joejune's ability to write poetic melodies and his keen harmonics seem to come natural for him; His music is in constant evolution and everyday Joejune spends his time perfecting it His lyrics on his life experiences are reflective, as well as, punchy making his music very relatable. In 2011 Joejune decided to showcase some of his music. The crowd was quite taken by his eclectic fresh sound. Joejune is currently working on his first official mixtape titled, "The Birth."
