JID is coming off the stellar DiCaprio 2, which sat comfortably in the top ten on our Hottest Album Of The Year list. Now, the Dreamville rapper continues his press run with a stop at the Power 106 studios in LA, to have a conversation with the LA Leakers. Though he neglects to spit a freestyle, JID offers some insight into the game, his album, and his peers. At around the ten-minute mark, he breaks down his own personal top five albums of the year, doling out praise to Mick Jenkins, Earl Sweatshirt, Tierra Whack, Saba, and Kali Uchis.

When asked about Hov's "What's Free" verse, JID immediately channels Young Thug and lets out a passionate "SHEESH." "I don't be shocked," says JID. "He's one of the few older artists that's aged gracefully. It's always a little tricky period when you making the transition to an older artist, and rap age is super weird." He reflects on how "Father Time whoop ass all the time," but Hove has managed to break the cycle.

For more from JID, including working with J. Cole, his cover-art debacle, be sure to check out the entire interview below.
