Canadian songstress Jessie Reyez is back with yet another track to instantly add to your preferred playlists in the form of “Body Count.”

Anchored by a simplistic acoustic guitar with production manned by The Rascals and Babyface, Reyez dives into a track that tackles societal predispositions about sex and relationships as her signature candor shines through on the cut.

In a press release, Reyez explains that the song is meant to serve as “an anthem to empower” and “asserts that women and men are equally allowed to embrace their sexuality rather than be modest.”

“I feel like so often we’re encouraged to keep our ‘body count’ low, where as men get high fives for a high number; which is cool, do you, but I think the double standard is wack and women should get high fives too,” she adds. “I’m not saying go f-ck the world — I’m saying f-ck the unfair judgement.”

Quotable Lyrics:
I dodge dick on the daily, yeah
I know it's funny, but it's true
And I bought this Mercedes all by myself
Got the papers to prove
