Jay Z will help bring Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway musical "In The Heights" to the silver screen.
Jay Z is wheeling and dealing under the terms of his deal to exclusively produce television series and films for the Weinstein Company. His six-part documentary on the Kalief Browder tragedy premiered on Spike last month. Playbill reports that Jay Z will co-produce the upcoming film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda's acclaimed musical "In The Heights." A story of Latino residents in the Upper Manhattan neighborhood Washington Heights, "In the Heights" made its Broadway debut in 2008.
Harvey Weinstein reportedly announced Jay's involvement during a pre-Oscars party this Sunday. He will be one of six producers working on the project. Principle photography begins this spring.
