Rappers are competitive. This we know. TDE's OG Jay Rock is no different, as evidenced by a recent tweet of self-appraisal. The rapper previously declared his propensity for winning, and now, such confidence has emerged on his Twitter page. Reflecting on his Redemption album, Rock took a moment to boldly dub his project "album of the year," telling all competitors to avoid discourse at all costs. In truth, his statement will likely invite further rebuttals, but that's a story for another day.

"I got tha album of the year," he writes. "Don't talk 2 me!!!" Sometimes, that's all one needs to say. Given Redemption's stellar quality, his proclamations are certainly not crazy. Though they are certainly more debatable than his finality suggests.

Interestingly enough, a few rappers have already taken to making similar claims, namely J. Cole, who dropped a freestyle of the same name. It would certainly be a healthy dose of competition between the collaborators, as the KOD rapper previously held it down on Rock's "OSOM." To be fair, both rappers delivered excellent well rounded projects, and will no doubt be in the conversation come year end round-up season. Do you feel like either party held it down with an AOTY contender? Sound off below.
