Jay Electronica Dedicates Freestyle To Phife Dawg

Watch Jay Electronica drop a freestyle inspired by Tribe's "Can I Kick It?".

Jay Electronica's show in Minneapolis this weekend found the rapper paying tribute to Phife Dawg, the legendary rapper and Tribe Called Quest member who died last month. Taking a note from Tribe's "Can I Kick It?," as well as Jay Z's "22 Two's," Jay dropped a freestyle that he interspersed with the titular call-and-response chorus. Once he was done with his verse, he had an aspiring rapper from the area come through with some bars, which he seemed visibly impressed with throughout before declaring, "This motherfucker can spit".

It's safe to say Phife would have been proud. The up-and-comer's name is Metasota. Does he have potential?
