Hopsin Says Funk Volume Is "Officially Dead"
As you've probably noticed, Funk Volume has been going through some things lately. It started the first week of January, when Hopsin revealed his desire to leave FV, citing issues between himself and the label's co-founder, Dame Ritter.
Jarren Benton Says He's Leaving Funk Volume For No Limit
The core of Funk Volume is rapidly falling apart. Over the weekend, Hopsin announced that he would leave the label that he helped start in 2009 if his co-founder Damien Ritter did not leavel. Now, it appears that Jarren Benton is decamping from Funk Volume for Master P and No Limit Records.

Tomorrow, Jarren Benton will embark on his "Slow Motion" tour, hitting sixteen cities coast to coast in support of his recent EP of the same name. We have a pair of tickets to give away for each city, and the winner will also be entitled to a five minute meet and greet. Stream Jarren Benton's "Slow Motion Vol. 1" EP
Next Tuesday (January 27th), Jarren Benton will be dropping off his EP Slow Motion Vol. 1. Less than a week ahead of that, he's decided to grant us streaming privileges. Listen to the eight track project below. For the most part, the EP's production is handled by Benton's go-to beatmaker, Kato, but Justin Padron and M16 also contribute a beat apiece. The EP is also pretty guest heavy, showcasing appearances by Hemi, Sy Ari Da Kid, Rock City, Mayday!, Dizzy Wright, SwizZz, Hopsin, Jon Connor and Sareena Dominguez.

Jarren Benton hasn't dropped a new project since My Grandmother's Basement last June, and he also hasn't dropped much in the way of new music either. That's not to say the (weirdest) member of Funk Volume hasn't kept himself busy.
Tech N9ne Announces "Independent Grind" Tour With Freddie Gibbs [Update: Tour Dates Added]
Tech N9ne is ready to go back on the road, and this time, surprisingly enough, he's taking Freddie Gibbs with him. The tour, "Tech N9ne's Independent Grind Tour" will visit more than 70 cities, with affiliate Krizz Kaliko, Jarren Benton and Pysch Ward Druggies. The complete set of tour dates haven't been announced at this point, but according to HipHopDX they're coming soon.
