Over the last week, rumors have circulated of a new album from Janet Jackson, her first since 2008. A photo of an Atlantic Records release schedule had the LP set for a June release, but it all seemed like it oculd be a hoax. Today, we have confirmation that new Janet music is on its way, as well as a 2015 world tour.
A clip posted to vimeo today features the sultry voice of Jackson, making the big announcement on her 49th birthday.
“I promised you’d hear it from my lips, and now you will.," she says. "This year: new music, new world tour, a new movement. I've been listening. Let's keep the conversation going.”
