James Fauntleroy hits us with another one-off.

James Fauntleroy has been riding a wave of buzz for quite a while now. He was featured on more than one platinum album in 2015, all without having release his debut record. We still don’t have word on that solo album, but over the weekend he let loose a standalone track called “How To Survive In A World.”

The track is a duet with singer Emma Rena. The first third is a funky cut featuring some digitized synth and a fat bass line, but about 80 seconds in the song changes and becomes dominated by Emma Rena. It’s possible Fauntleroy created the first bit as an add on to Rena’s song, or maybe it was supposed to be in distinct sections.

Quotable Lyrics

It’s a matter of life or death
without my heart inside my chest
I’ll die

- James Fauntleroy
