J. Cole has turned himself into a household name across the country and abroad, but it wasn't too long ago that we were all asking "who dat?" in connection to the Fayatteville MC.

The rapper has got fans excited for his new album, with his unique promotional campaign, that includes a contest for fans to join him at his childhood home (2014 Forest Hills Drive) for a listening session. One lucky fan already had her listening session, with Cole visiting her home in Dallas, Texas. His break-out single "Who Dat," which was ultimately scrapped from the tracklist of his debut album, was a high-energy track from the often-mellow MC, with a horn-driven instrumental accompanied by enthusiastic rhymes.

We decided it was about time to add The Warm Up mixtape to our J. Cole collection, so if you want to go back to that project grab it here.

Quotable Lyrics

Hey, the mind state of a winner
When you thinking about summertime I'm thinking about the winter
When you thinking about breakfast I'm heating up my dinner
I was plotting this moment back when y'all was riding spinners
Yeah I'm a menace, God as my witness, with this pen I'm insane, yup
