A few more hours have passed, so iLoveMakonnen trusts that his fans will be ready for yet another new song. It's before midnight, so that means "Start a New Wave" is Makonnen's fourth new track of the day. It all started about 23 hours ago with a 10-minute soul-bearing freestyle, and after catching some Z's, Makonnen returned this afternoon with two new drops, the Sonny Digital-produced "Stay With Me Tonight" and "Swimming in the Money," produced by the Hoodrich duo of DJ Spinz and Danny Wolf. "Start a New Wave" -- the nightcap -- is produced by Traxamillion, who hails from the Bay, where Makonnen now calls home.
The song finds Makonnen laughing off those who call him crazy and boasting about his ability to "start a new wave" at any time. "I got apps all damn night," he raps, shedding some light on his plans to conquer Silicon Valley. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the new wave he's concocted with Traxamillion. The Red Dragon should be a welcome addition to the Bay Area.
