Atlanta-bred rapper ILoveMakonnen rose to fame after Drake remixed his song "Tuesday" back in 2014. Since then, the artist has managed to distinguish himself through his unique style, which merges typical Atlanta trap and bedroom pop to create his own take on pop.

Today, he released the news that he would be dropping his next EP, M3, which will be released on June 21. This will be his "first official body of work in almost three years," according to a press-release statement made by a representative of Makonnen, and it will be an "intro into my life after 2017," as said by the artist himself.

In anticipation of the album release, the "Swerve" artist has made his single "Drunk On Saturday" from the album, available on Youtube. The song, which is accompanied by the official lyric video, has an upbeat and bouncy melody, which will have you bopping in your seat. However, upon looking at the lyrics, you'll realize that it's actually really just a heartbreak anthem disguised as a pop song.

The contrast between the song's meaning and its energetic delivery make for a very unique sounding track that can go along with any mood you may have. The singer/rapper made a previous statement regarding his tribute video for the late Lil Peep, "I've Been Waiting" saying, "Peep and I wanted our music to help people escape from depression and their everyday world," which can carry forward as justification to the artist's unusual mix of lyrics and beats.

You can pre-order the album today, and receive two instant grat tracks “Drunk On Saturday”  and “Spendin (feat. Gucci Mane)."

Quotable Lyrics:

You know I want you back
Babe, I know I fucked up bad
And now I'm drunk on Saturday
Still lonely feeling sad I didn't love
You like I should, sad I didn't love
You like I should, sad I didn't love
You like I should
