Rich the Kid and iLoveMakonnen are two forward-thinking young Atlantans, interested in trying out their skills in different genres while still taking ultimate inspiration from the trap. In late November, they teamed up for a joint tape, Whip It, and they earned a new fan in famed EDM producer Steve Aoki, who has come through today with a remix of the Whip It standout "No Ma'am 2."
Aoki's new rework is titled "How Else," as it makes effective use of Makonnen yelling, "How else am I gon' get it?" Rich and Makonnen's snappy trap punchlines go surprisingly well alongside Aoki's wonky bass drops, and "How Else" should have some crossover appeal come festival season.
If you're feeling this, Aoki and Rich have been cooking up in the studio, and they also brought along another experimental young trapper in Lil Uzi Vert. Stay tuned.
