The Big3 League has announced that the first game of the season will take place on June 25th at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. Tickets will go on sale this Saturday, March 18th.
Ice Cube, the founder of the star-studded 3-on-3 league, revealed the news this week and also mentioned that the player combine and draft will take place next month.
"Brooklyn has been on our radar since we started the BIG3," Ice Cube said in a statement on Big3.com. "From the pickup courts to the pros, New York’s hoops history is unrivaled. Legends are born here, and kicking this thing off at the iconic Barclays Center could not be more fitting."
The eight rosters won't be completed until the April Draft, but four co-captain tandems and team names have already been revealed including:
- Chauncey Billups and Stephen Jackson (Killer 3s)
- Kenyon Martin and Al Harrington (Trilogy)
- Rashard Lewis and Jason Williams (3 Headed Monsters)
- Jermaine O'Neal and Bonzi Wells (Tri-State)
We also know that Allen Iverson will be a player-coach for "3's Company," and that Mike Bibby will be one of the captains of "Ghost Ballers."
