Staff Picks Playlist (September 3)
The end of this past work week unfortunately brought us into September, but with it came a couple of hotly anticipated releases we can't complain about, even if the months are getting colder. The two big releases of this past week belonged to Isaiah Rashad, with The Sun's Tirade, and Travis Scott's Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight. The two projects differ greatly in sound and style, with Travis being a more experimental rapper and Isaiah keeping that true hip-hop feel alive and well. They both have that Kendrick Lamar feature on deck, though.
Stream IAMSU!'s New Album "6 Speed"
Bay Area emcee IAMSU! always does it for the fans, and today he uploaded a new project to Spotify (and TIDAL) called 6 Speed. Drawing at least a bit of inspiration from his 2012 project $uzy 6 $peed, the 10 song 6 Speed is classic IAMSU! Think upbeat, Bay slappers with slick flows and rapid-fire wordplay. Su doesn’t stray far from his formula, but there’s little reason to do so when the formula is so good.
Stream Show Banga's New Album "ShowTime 2"
On Friday, Bay Area rapper Show Banga released his 15-track sophomore album ShowTime 2. It is partly a tribute to his father, ShowTime, a hustler and businessman from the storied Fillmore district of San Francisco who taught him from a young age how to earn money and hustle in the independent music game.

Yesterday Iamsu! appeared to be -the man-, basically insinuating he had a role to play in Frank Ocean's highly anticipated album Boys Don't Cry, which we know little about, save for the fact that it might be dropping in July.
Iamsu! Says Frank Ocean's New Album Does Not Disappoint
Frank Ocean's name recirculated public consciousness this past weekend when the singer hinted heavily that a new album, BOYS DON'T CRY, would be dropping in July. The hint came via Frank Ocean's official website, with an image suggesting his album's due date is July 2016.

Stream Iamsu!'s New Album "Kilt 3"

Staff Picks Playlist (January 15)
This week, as you probably noticed, the VERY HOTTTTTs were killing it, and no, we weren't just in a giving mood, there was just a lot of fire music dropping. Not only that, the songs lists were phenomenally long each day (who peeped our Snapchat?). All this to say, everyone should have a song they were fucking with this past week.

Stream HBK Skipper's New Album, "The Thrill"
Skipper has always been one of the most consistent members of HBK, but he's generally operated just below the radar compared to the crews biggest names. His new project, The Thrill, could bring the rapper into the lanes of Iamsu and Sage The Gemini, as he continues to fine-tune his incredibly catchy brand of West Coast-infused rap. Kool John, Jay Ant, CJ, and Dave Steezy, show up as features, while the and the aforementioned Su provides production among the likes of T-Scoob, Trauma Tone, and Shonuff.

Charts Don’t Lie: May 25
This week we're seeing how a little bit (or a lot, rather) of media coverage can go a long way. While we have new entries from Michael Jackson (Xscape) and Iamsu! (Sincerely Yours), we're also seeing a few classic albums re-enter the Billboard 200, plus there's the aftermath of the Solange/Jay Z elevator blow out.
Review: Iamsu!'s "Sincerely Yours"
It only took one day for Iamsu!’s debut album, Sincerely Yours, to reach iTunes’ top album charts, a feat which is, quite frankly, surprising. Though the album is not a flop, it’s not a work of artistic genius either. There is nothing about this album that differentiates it from his previous seven albums, and many of the songs on it sound alike.
Stream Iamsu!'s Debut Album, "Sincerely Yours" In Its Entirety
HBK Gang releases really sneak up on you. Sage The Gemini's debut album seemed to come out of nowhere, and now Iamsu! has dropped his brand new 19-track effort on us without warning.
