Having gone his separate way from his co-founded Funk Volume label earlier this year, citing issues with fellow founder Damien Ritter over money & management issues, Hopsin is now doing his own thing under his new label, Undercover Prodigy.

After taking a bit of a break since an instalment in the fan-favorite series "Illmind of Hopsin" (we're currently at the eighth instalment), Hop is back today with a new record and video to boot. The rapper is all about his business in this one.

Hopsin heads to the courtroom for the eighth installment of his “Ill Mind of Hopsin” series. The California rapper takes the witness stand to air out his feelings. He also drops a bombshell within the video, distancing himself from the label he co-founded, Funk Volume. He takes more than a few shots at his Funk Volume co-founder Damien Ritter, even calling him a “new age Jerry Heller.”

Hopsin continues to roll out new videos in support of his latest album Pound Syndrome. Last month, he dropped off the official video for his Dizzy Wright-featured cut “Fort Collins,” and now today he’s back with another one for “No Words.”

Funk Volume's Hopsin comes through this morning with a visual treatment for his apologetic record "Fort Collins." The lyrical MC gets a few things off his chest, mainly pertaining to the struggles he's experienced in the rap industry. Dizzy Wright offers a second angle, rapping to Hop about what it looks like from his own perspective, and that of the fans. Watch the new music video up top, and if you haven't yet, you can cop Pound Syndrome on iTunes.  We recently had Dizzy, Hop and Jarren sit down for a segment of Crew Love. Catch that below.

Funk Volume
Funk Volume may seem like a cocky bunch after recently issuing a $500,000 rap battle challenge to any and all comers. But during a recent stop by HNHH offices, the FV triad of Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, & Jarren Benton revealed itself to be a band of merry jokesters who get along famously with one another, in large part due to their strong musical bond.

Funk Volume made an appearance on Shade 45's "Sway in the Morning" yesterday, where they let Sway know they are ready to put down half a million dollars on a rap battle against the top 3 from any label -- Strange Music, TDE, Shady Records, Slaughterhouse, G.O.O.D. Music -- "anybody," said Hopsin.

Hopsin's new album, Pound Syndrome, is due out on July 24th. Before that, Hop has dropped off a new music video for a record off the project, "Fly." This one's got a message, as Hopsin raps about the affects of our current celebrity-obsessed culture and, specifically, the marketing that goes into it. The visual starts off in a college class room, with a girl giving a presentation on marketing. (Marcus) Hopsin is next up, and delivers his own "final presentation."

When it comes to posse cuts, few are doing it better than Hopsin's Funk Volume crew. Hoppa, the in-house DJ and producer, organized the latest Funk Volume cypher, bringing along the roster's biggest names, including: Jarren Benton, Dizzy Wright, SwizZz, and, label boss himself, Hopsin. Visually, Funk Volume has also created a wonderfully weird and captivating aesthetic, and this animated video is about the only thing that can match the mind-bending rhymes of each of the four emcees.

Jarren Benton
Recently Jarren Benton dropped off his new EP, Slow Motion, and in a press run for the new project the Funk Volume rapper took a trip to the HNHH offices to discuss the EP. Although Jarren is anything but a 'slow' rapper, he explains that the title of his EP actually pays homage to his late manager who passed away. Jarren also speaks on his writing process, which is basically solitary confinement. The rapper says he needs to be completely alone with the beat to get his inspiration.

We've caught glimpses of Hopsin's travels throughout the UK, through his recent Tim Westwood freestyle session, and of course, twitter updates. However if you wanted a closer look at the Funk Volume rapper's tour life, he's got you covered with a new vlog showcasing his Bristol, UK "Knock Madness" stop.

Hopsin was recently in London on tour, and while there, he did what any sensible rapper does while in that city: pay a visit to Tim Westwood's studio to kick a freestyle. The Funk Volume rapper lived up to his reputation as one of the finest cypherers in the game with some thrilling bars over A$AP Ferg and A$AP Rocky's "Shabba." With Westwood giving one of his always legendary intros, the white contact-clad Hopsin mutters, "It's been two years since I been up in the bitch" before launching into a few minutes of rapping.  Y'all dig Hopsin's bars on this one?

We're a fan of Hopsin's grotesque artistry, even if his viral "Ill Mind Of Hopsin 5" toed the line between conscious and condescending.  Nothing's changed here with his gleefully sickening visuals for his song "I Need Help," which is to be found off his latest album, Knock Madness.
