Around the time of Frank Ocean’s debut album release Channel Orange, fans got wind that a collaboration between the OF singer and legendary emcee Nas titled “No Such Thing As White Jesus”.  Unfortunately, it was later announced that the single would not be released, as there were issues on the technical side.

The producer of the track, Hit-Boy, was on the Femme Fatale Mixshow, and explained how he lost the track.  In fact, that was not the only record that was lost during travelling, as the producer says he lost a whole hard drive of material (from HipHopDX).  "I had a bunch of sessions on [a hard drive], and in the mix somehow, in traveling, I lost the drive,"Hit-Boy said. "It's not only that song; it's a bunch of other songs I could be done with right now, and I'm kinda pissed about it, but it is what it is.”

He has reached out to try to re-record the song, but with both Ocean and Nas with albums atop the charts, it is difficult to find time to get the three artists together, “I'm not sure [if we'll re-record it]; I had talked to Frank about it and he was gonna try to re-cut it, but he was doing so much for his album that he didn't have the time. It just didn't come together.”

Nas and Frank Ocean’s albums were number 2 and 3, respectively, in album sales last week.  See the full Hit-Boy interview below.
