Nick Catchdubs Feat. Troy Ave & Heems
DJ/producer Nick Catchdubs is probably best known for being the co-founder of indie record label Fool’s Gold, but he’s now taking his talents to the mic and releasing his first ever album as a solo artist on April 28th called Smoke Machine. Tonight, the DJ decides to liberate the project’s newest offering “Full House” featuring Troy Ave & Heems. With heavy influence from the EDM-movement, “Full House” is a very unorthodox record that fans will probably either love or hate. However, Troy does drop some nice bars throughout this here.
Heems Feat. Dev Hynes
Once representing one third of the now defunct hip hop group Das Racist, Heems (real name: Himanshu Suri) went on to release two strong mixtapes in 2012, but has since remained relatively quiet. The rapper is ready to break through once again in 2015, preparing his new effort Eat Pray Thug for a March release.
Former Das Racist member Heems is a man of dichotomies. Sometimes he writes hard, sometimes he writes lazy; sometimes he's got game, sometimes he's mad shy. His new single "Sometimes" lays all of these seemingly incongruous traits out for the listener, and makes for one hell of a lead single from his upcoming, amazingly-titled album, Eat Pray Thug. It drops on March 10th, and will feature production from Harry Fraud and Dev Hynes, among others. Heems shared the track with the following statement:
Vampire Weekend Feat. Danny Brown, Heems & Despot
A hip-hop remix of independent rock group Vampire Weekend's "Step", featuring Danny Brown, Despot and Himanshu of the former Das Racist. The original track was included on VM's 2013 album Modern Vampires Of The City. It interpolates a vocal melody from "Aubrey" by David Gates and lyrics from YZ's "Who's That Girl".
