We get all kinds of submissions for Heatseekers: Lex Luger-esque trap, Bada$$-style boom-bap, Trey Songz wannabes, half-baked Mac Millers. Despite that breadth of sounds, I don't think any applicant has had a beat that sounds like the one on JayScho's "Dat Nigga."
The New Smyrna Beach, Florida, resident gives us a hyper-minimal instrumental that features only a bassline, a light kick drum, snaps and a vocal sample. With that barely-there accompaniment, Scho is able to run rampant lyrically, bacling up his claim that he has "so many different flows" and is "crazy lyrical."
