Why We Like O-Z

O-Z fuzes many different styles into their sound, executing each very precisely. The trio of West Chester emcees, OZ, Semmi and Jonny Bell, provide us with old school flavors, big hooks, and well constructed songs, which make them solid competitors in the competition.

Artist Bio:

OZ, J. Bell, and Semmi are three emerging artist hailing from the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. First single off their upcoming compilation LP. Twitter: @oztheog @afrobreeze @therealsemmi

Why We Like The Goonz

The Goonz' dark boom bap production, and rugged lyricism is reminiscent of Big L's early crew tracks. The Group's multisyllabic flows are as impressive as they are memorable, delivering plenty of nice punchlines within their weaving verses.

Artist Bio:

The Goonz are a hip hop group out of Somerville, Massachusetts consisting of The Misift, Overdose and Sun Cane. They released their debut mixtape, the Villeside of the Moon EP on 2-18-13

Why We Like ZaCE

ZaCe delivers breathless bars filled with internal rhymes and complex rhythms. The rapper/producer pays tribute to 90's boom bap, with beats that recall Havoc and the RZA, even going as far as to sample Nas' voice to pay homage to the golden era of hip hop. His skill backs up the large shoes he's filling, and makes him a solid competitor in the top 4.

Artist Bio:

Young 17 year old rapper and producer born in Staten Island and raised in Tampa FL. Been making music all my life and started making beats around 11 years old.

Why We Like Connor Woods

Connor Woods brings a lot of sincerity to his music. His confident flows glide over his preferred choice of smooth production, introducing us to his very real, and relatable personality. His skill as an emcee is also admirable, constructing interesting and engaging concepts to his songs and verses.

Artist Bio:

My bio is my music, anything I rap about is my life. Even though, my mom and dad don't believe I can do this music thing, I believe in myself, knowing one day I will succeed in this music world.

Listen to the track that landed them on Heatseekers- "I Don't Wanna (Prod. DJ Juice)"
