Although Halsey and John Mayer may seem like a great couple, while many fans continue to egg them on via social media, the two "creative artists" have taken to Instagram Live to shut down the rumours once and for all after weeks of speculation. John's latest Instagram Live episode of Current Mood had Halsey as a guest and together they both answered a fan question on whether they're really together, or not.
"Before the show, Halsey and I were asked—who asked us?" John said in the clip. "Halsey and I were asked by someone else to write down the answer to the question 'Are you guys dating?' . . . If we are dating, it'll be great. It'll be great. And if we're not, we'll be fine."
Both singers answered the question themselves by writing their answers on a board to show the camera. John's explanation for why he and Halsey were not together was pretty simple: "The fact that were both alpha types, while not prohibitive, would make a romantic relationship difficult, especially one compounded by the fact we're both highly driven and creative artists who value our independence."
So there we have it, guys. John and Halsey are not a thing but we can't help but think it's not completely out the window. "I think the worst is when you debunk a dating rumor, and then…a little while later you're like, shit, I might date them," Halsey said in the clip - hmmm.
