Gunplay says he's officially changing his name to Don Logan on New Years Day.

Gunplay has been a member of the MMG camp for a years, but yet he’s still one of the remaining few to not release his solo album. With his name having partial reason for this, it looks like the MMG artist is also taking the appropriate step in taking his talent to the next level.

Taking to twitter moments ago, Gunplay announced that he will officially be changing his name to Don Logan on January 1st. If he sticks to his word, this name change should definitely help shape “Gunplay’s” image, and ultimately help with future album sales. After all, "Gunplay" isn't the most marketable name to sell in the stores is it? So why it may be hard to see "Gunplay" go, this should confirm that we’ll indeed get his debut album in early 2015.

Gunplay isn’t the only artist to change his name recently though. We’ve seen the likes of Lil Boosie turn to Boosie Badazz and Bow Wow go to Shad Moss just in the past few months.

Check out the tweet below. Do you believe he’ll stick with it?
