Although the 2019 Grammys are a few months away, the Recording Academy and CBS are plotting a few years ahead. Today, the Grammy Awards announced the dates for the 2020 and 2021 ceremonies as well as key dates and deadlines for the 2019 ceremonies.
The 2020 and 2021 Grammys will take place at their usual location of the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. The 62nd annual Grammy Awards ceremony will air on Sunday, Jan. 26th, 2020and the 63rd edition of the ceremony will occur on January 31st, 2021. This year was the first time the award ceremony took place in New York City since 2003. L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti explained that the City of Angels is a perfect place for the Grammys to hold their annual ceremony due to the fact that it's a hub for musical forces.

The music industry is integral to L.A.’s economy, and reflects the spirit of the city itself: diverse, imaginative and always ready to break new ground. As for the 2019 Grammy Awards, the announcement for nominations in all 84 categories will happen on December 5th and honor all recordings between Oct. 1st, 2017 and Sept. 30th, 2018.
