A major plot twist has just been revealed following the murder of George Floyd. According to a former club owner in Minneapolis, both George Floyd and his killer, police officer Derek Chauvin, worked security at the El Nuevo Rodeo club.

As protests and riots continue to take place across the country, more information is coming out about the 46-year-old unarmed black man that was murdered this week. According to an ABC News affiliate, Floyd allegedly worked security at a nightclub and Derek Chauvin, the since-fired officer who kneeled on his neck, worked at the same club.

Maya Santamaria, former owner of the club, spoke:

"Chauvin was our off-duty police for almost the entirety of the 17 years that we were open," said Santamaria. "They were working together at the same time, it's just that Chauvin worked outside and the security guards were inside."

The two reportedly worked overlapping shifts but it's unclear if they actually knew each other. There were reportedly a couple dozen security guards on the staff. At first, Santamaria did not recognize Floyd in the video.

"My friend sent me [the video] and said this is your guy who used to work for you and I said, 'It's not him.' And then they did the closeup and that's when I said, 'Oh my God, that's him,'" said Santamaria. "I didn't recognize George as one of our security guys because he looked really different lying there like that."

Rest in peace, George Floyd. Let's all work together to seek justice for him.
