The longstanding HBO fantasy epic Game Of Thrones has come to an end, culminating with its eighth and final season. On Sunday night, "The Iron Throne" concluded the tales of longtime favorites, including Jon Snow, Daenerys Targaryen, Sansa Stark, Arya Stark, Tyrion Lannister, Bran Stark, and more. Given that time has passed since the episode's initial airing, tread carefully here, as there will be spoilers throughout. And let's be honest - there's a strong chance that anyone reading this stands among the millions of viewers who tuned in to begin with.

CNN reports that finale "The Iron Throne" set a new series record, bringing in 19.3 million viewers across all platforms - and those are not counting the multiple people watching together, nor the people tuning in through illicit means. With all said and done, the Thrones finale has set the bar as the most viewed episode in the network's longstanding history. In fact, Thrones even trumped the series finale of The Big Bang Theory, which brought in an impressive 18 million viewers.

For what it's worth, the series lived up to George R.R. Martin's famous "bittersweet" label, with the tragic death of Dany arriving at the hands of her once-lover, Jon Snow. Yet the realm is not without hope, having seemingly united under the newly-elected leadership of Bran Stark and his star-studded small council. Not to mention, HBO already doing the Birdman hand rub at the prospect of an Arya Stark spinoff, if and when actress Maisie Williams is looking to secure the bag. Regardless of where you stand on the finale, pour some out for Game Of Thrones, which went out as one of the greatest television juggernauts of our time.
