Greg Brown aka G Maly is a 22 year old recording artist out of Oakland, California. He was born September 23, 1990 in Hayward, California and relocated to East Oakland at age seven. Watching closely after his father, Greg Brown Jr. (former rapper in group 187 FAC), Greg found his first inspirations to create his own rap in 1998. From that point on, he continued writing raps and performing them in his living room for his mother and friends. Both parents are a big influence in his art from introducing him to different genres of music, to simply encouraging him to better his skills. With that, Greg listened to 2Pac, Spice 1, E-40, Biggie Smalls, NWA, Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, and others gaining inspiration from them as well.
In 2005, Greg created his stage name G Maly, an acronym for God’s Most Artistic Lil Youngsta. He also started a rap group of his own called Maney Boiz, which later changed to The Originalz. He began making his own beats on FL Studio and rapping over his own production. “Time Out”, “Bring It Back”, and “She Can’t See” are just some of the groups’ songs. A couple years later, his music was put on hold while his focus was placed more on basketball where he played varsity for Skyline High School. His athletic talents were put to use as he furthered his education onto college. As an undecided college major, he picked back up on the one thing he knew he’d always loved. Greg continued writing music while still taking college courses.
Now a solo artist back in the booth, G Maly plans to put out his first mixtape entitled Process of Elimination, which is said to be released June 16, 2011. To stay connected with G Maly and more music updates, follow him on twitter @G_Maly and his official website WWW.GMALYMUZIK.COM
