Future's back-to-back release of his FUTURE and HNDRXX albums has made him the first artist to earn #1 debuts in consecutive weeks. In a new interview with HYPEBEAST, the Atlanta rapper has shared some insight into the idea behind the double album release.

"The connection is me doing one complete project," explained Future. "I feel like one is more melodic and one is personal, but both of them is me, all of me. [I liked] being able to give the fans two separate things to think about."

Future later suggested that his decision to release the albums one week apart was an effort to "complete the thought," however it was also a way for him to subvert the conventional approach of putting out music.

"It’s just experience, just being able to be creative in the way you release music. I feel like it was a dope way to release music, he said. "Everybody is always dropping [the same way], they always announce the album. But to be able to drop a surprise project, and not just only one but two albums but then the way I released it, the way the visuals [came together], the collaborations and everything else just made the project what it is.

At one point in the conversation, the prolific rapper listed his favorite songs from across the two new projects. "From the FUTURE project, probably 'Mask Off,' then 'Feds Did A Sweep,'" he said. "On the HNDRXX project, it’s 'Coming Out Strong,' 'Selfish,' 'New Illuminati' and 'Solo.' I love 'Solo.'"

Unfortunately for those anticipating a collab mixtape with Young Thug, Future's response to whether he has any joint projects on deck was "not right now." Then again, he's never one to reveal his hand early in the game.
