When you describe Melly it is only right to associate him with greatness an excellence due to his many accomplishments in his whole career. Born and raised in North East Baltimore, MD. At Sina hospital he quickly adapted to the entertainment business at a young age through his father who drove tractor trailers for some of the most successful artist in the business. He began his journey as a musician when he entered Loch Raven Academy to study fine artist and from there he made the transition into hip hop music by writing music and performing it in front of his fellow students. From day one Melly knew he wanted to be the most popular artist to ever come out of Baltimore so he joined up with familiar friends and begin to start their own record label named Foot Soldierz ent., which is one of DMV’s well known party promoting companies hosting artist such as Nicki Minaj, Mr. cheeks, and many more. Currently he is working on his 5th solo album entitled “The New South” which is due to drop on Feb. 18, 2011. His last mix tape was sponsored by datpiff.com due to his single “ I Think I Love Her and Cause I’m Fresh” which had a combined 12’000 downloads on the internet. In doing so he was able to max out on Facebook and start a twitter page generating over 22,000 followers. The list of accomplishment can go on for days due to the success he has had with help of his Foot Soldierz family and outside sources such as Scottie B from unruly records who mentored him most of his career. After one meeting with him Scottie told Melly that you have that fire that most artist lose after a while when they don’t become successful and should never let it go. Melly has been on 3 major tour with artist such as Jarrel Lavert, Frankie Beverly and Maze, and Queen Latifa where he served as a drum technician on all of them. So he understands the life of being on the road and the grind that comes with being an opening act and a headlining artist. In pursing his career melly is trying to start his own basketball league the youth in his own neighborhood to give them something positive to look forward to every year. Seeing how drugs and gang activity has taken over his old neighborhood and caused him to lose a lot of close friends. His success comes from seeing the reaction from others to his music and the respect he gets from local artist that recognize him as a solid artist.
