Freddie Gibbs parted ways from Young Jeezy's CTE label last year, following rumors that the two may be ending their affiliation. At first, it seemed like Gangsta Gibbs was keeping his mouth shut about the split, saying only that it was a mutual business decision. As time progresses Gibbs has opened up more about the split, and revealed that it was not an amicable one.
In a new interview with XXL, Freddie spoke on his departure from CTE and his former associate, Young Jeezy. He doesn't hold back this time, saying that anything Jeezy will tell you about the split will be sugarcoated. Gibbs even admits to being "political" at first, and that's why he didn't want to say too much about what happened.
When asked if Jeezy was supportive of the Indiana native doing his own thing, Gibbs responded, "Fuck no. Anything he tells you, it’s going to be fake. I am going to give you the real. He gonna give you the sugarcoated version. That’s the difference between me and him. He gonna give you the sugarcoated shit, I am going to give you the real. At first, when that whole split happened, I was being political about it. I was thinking, ‘Man, I don’t want to fuck up my relationship.’ But fuck that shit my nigga. I’m feeding the whole city. That nigga don’t do shit for me. I am going to point a nigga out when he bogus and he was bogus for not owing up to his business relationship and doing what he was supposed to do business-wise. Like I said, I never needed the nigga to do nothing for me, but do what you said what you were gonna do. You don’t hold true to your word, I don’t respect you. So I don’t respect no nigga that don’t hold true to his word. All that shit you rapping; I don’t respect none of that shit."
Freddie Gibbs also spoke on his upcoming album, ESGN, saying, "I think it’s going to be a big deal too. It’s going to be my first solo shit. Me separating from CTE. I’m extremely happy about that. Because a lot of guys wrote me off, Jeezy included. He really wrote me off. I am about to show that nigga what it really is. I am about to open that nigga’s eyes up and show that nigga that I mean motherfucking business. He wrote a nigga off, but I am definitely about to show that nigga that I mean business. And show that nigga who the realest nigga in it. That’s what I am on now."
Gibbs adds that Cocaine Pinata with Madlib is going to arrive in October this year.

We've already heard Gangsta Gibbs call out Jeezy once this week. Now Gibbs reveals even more about his former label boss and affiliate, Young Jeezy, whom he split ways with at the end of last year.
Gibbs said of his realization about Jeezy, "I started seein’ the fake and the empty promises and all of that stuff and I just didn’t wanna be around that no more...It’s tough meetin’ your heroes sometimes and kickin’ with them because when they take that cape off, boy o’ boy under that cape, sometimes it’s some scary lil’ boy hidin’ under that cape."
Gibbs revealed that after voicing his thoughts on Jeezy in the interview with XXL (above), he's been receiving death threats on Twitter. "Yeah, death threats," the rapper confirmed with MTV News. "Hey man, I know it hurts you to hear your favorite rapper's a fraud. It ain't my fault."
Why is Gibbs now speaking up about Jeezy's faults? He says that as he begins to do promo for his upcoming album, ESGN, he'll be fielding a lot of questions about the Snowman. Rather than shy away from them, Gibbs is going to talk about it as much as possible, trying to force a response out of Jeezy.
