Freddie Gibbs battles demons in his new video.

Today Freddie Gibbs has laced us with a new video from his 2015 album Shadow Of A Doubt. “Freddie Gordy” is one of the last tracks on the album and also it’s most heartfelt. Despite the menacing trap instrumental, Gibbs has acknowledged it’s his favorite song on the album and also it’s most heartfelt. He raps about the contradictions in his lifestyle and his own struggles with substance abuse.

The Jonah Schwartz-directed video has Gangsta Gibbs walking through the Bay Area, but frequently cuts to shots of him rapping to himself in a mirror and smoking a blunt with a woman. The video ends on a sad note, with Gibbs stopping at The Jacka’s memorial in Oakland. The two were close on a personal level, beyond just music.
