Fred The Godson has spent the last little while going in over other rappers instrumentals, including Drake's "Draft Day", Dej Loaf's "Try Me", as well as the Shmurda joint. "Hip Hop" finds him once again in the pocket of some classic New York sounds, reaching pretty far back with a very minimal horn-sampling beat.
The song is four years old, appearing on Fred's City Of God mixtape with DJ Drama, and it's not clear why he decided to liberate the track. Regardless, it's good to hear him back in his lane. Let's hop this is a sign that there's anotehr tape coming this year.
