With exception to his “G5” single with Dave East last month, Fred Da Godson has been relatively quiet so far in 2017, but that’s all about to change soon. Next week, Fred is expected to release a new mixtape called Gordo, serving as the follow up to 2014’s Fat Boy Fresh tape, but before he does so he has a new record to share with us ahead of time called “Different Scenario” featuring Jim Jones, Vado & Jaquae.
“I’m in Diamond District Studios with my brothers Rsonist and Jaquae,” Godson said about the origin the record. “Of course my favorite producer Rsonist from The Heatmakerz tells me he just cooked up some crack he wanted me to hear. I told him to throw it on! Soon as it came on, Jaquae runs in the booth and laid the hook in five minutes. [Laughs] I automatically knew, Vado and Jim! I actually sent the record to Vado and he bodied it! Next day, Jim comes in and wrote the verse with no pen in 10 minutes and laid it down in two takes! Incredible!”
