If you're not familiar with the large catalog of work Flying Lotus and Thundercat have done together under their respective monikers, you've at least heard their contributions to Kendrick Lamar's To Pimp A Butterfly. The same can be said for funk legend George Clinton, who showed up on Lamar's "Wesley's Theory," alongside the two jazz experimentalists.
“The Lavishments Of Light Looking," the latest in Adult Swim's characteristically excellent singles series continues that creative tangent, and throws the mastermind of Shabazz Palaces in Kendrick's place. The results are unsurprisingly weirder, but just as exciting. We're hoping to hear more from this assemblage of artists in the future.
