Flying Lotus turns R2D2's iconic beeps and boops into an instrumental.

As part of Star Wars Headspace project curated by Rick Rubin, producer extraordinaire Flying Lotus has created a glitchy instrumental called “R2 Where R U?”

The title plays on a moment in “Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope” where C-3PO calls out to R2D2. FlyLo cleverly uses a variety of R2D2 audio samples to construct the beat, but he uses them in a way that you wouldn’t necessarily know it was R2D2 without being told (except in a few obvious instances).

Other artists who contributed to the project include A-Trak, Shlohmo and Rustie.
