Late last year, FKJ teamed up with Dreamville's Bas for an intimate and emotionally resonant duet called "Risk." Over clean guitar arpeggios and vibey percussion, Bas set things off with a laid-back hook, his vocals sounding weary but never lazy. This week, the pair came through with a revised version of the track, this time connecting with producer Galimatias to handle the re-work. This time around, the track is given an altogether different feel, with far more present drums and no shortage of bombastic sounds and transitions.

Though the emotional skeleton is retained, there's something lush about Gatimatias' production choices that keep things moving at a lively pace. At one point near the halfway mark, he opts for a left-field turn into some strange instrumental territory, though somehow it manages to work. For those who enjoyed the original track, this remixed variant is easily worth checking out, even if it doesn't feature anything in the way of new vocals from the Dreamville rapper.

Check it out now, and sound off -- is this a direction you like to see from Bas?

QUOTABLE LYRICS

Is this what they call the abyss?
I fought and clawed for an inch
Turned into miracle mile
I can recall when your lips
Used to contort into smiles
Bright as the sun that’s drawn an eclipse
