Father has been lauded as a tastemaker almost as much as he’s celebrated as a rapper, and he fulfills both promises with this video. “In State Outta State,” a cut from his upcoming collaborative project Dionysus with featured artist Archibald Slim, has gotten an excellent video treatment from director Dash Romero. No doubt Father was involved in his selection for the production.
The video features the three artists on the song – producer Ethereal appears quickly during the first chorus – sitting around a table smoking, drinking, and counting money. The camera rotates counterclockwise as each artist reaches their verse, and it makes for a surprisingly watchable video. It’s also one of Father’s more tame, not featuring any close ups of body parts or bodily fluids.
This is the second release in as many days from Father, who dropped the song “She Knows” yesterday.
