Fat Joe sat down with Charlamagne The God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee this morning to discuss a wide range of topics including his new single "So Excited" featuring Dre. During the visit, he also talked to the notorious morning show about Remy Ma's new album and his involvement with her new project. Among the various topics they talked about, Fat Joe talked about having dinner with his hero, LL Cool J which lead to him giving a shout out to Vic Mensa's new album The Autobiography as well as the younger generation of hip hop.
"I heard some music recently, I never heard of him or seen him before and I don't want disrespect the kid. Vic Mensa? Oh no, oh no. He's coming out that Kanye camp." Joe said, "[He's a] Special guy."
Fat Joe also said that he believes New York City hip hop has never left, citing the new wave of artists coming out the city right now and their ability to adapt to other sounds.
It's always nice to see the OG's giving credit to the younger generation especially with an artist such longevity as Fat Joe.
Fat Joe is currently pushing his new single "So Excited" feat. Dre from Miami production duo Cool N Dre which he brought to the Breakfast Club to premiere.
