It's been a great year for West Coast rap albums. YG's Still Brazy and ScHoolboy Q's Blank Face are among the year's best releases, but there have also been some great projects from newer voices in the region (Nef The Pharoh's Neffy Got Wings and Kamaiyah's A Good Night In The Ghetto come to mind).
Ezale's Tonite Show project with DJ Fresh is yet another strong offering from California, putting the unique charisma of the Oakland rapper on full display over some warm production that feels like a tour of the last 20 years of West Cost rap history. "We Out Here" is one of the more immediately catchy records, making for a perfect end-of-summer soundtrack.
