Earlier this year, we got a taste of Everything Is Recorded, the new project from XL Recordings founder Richard Russell. Since then, they've released a new EP titled Close But Not Quite and return today with a video for the excellent title track, which features vocals from R&B vocalist extraordinaire Sampha.
Directed by Scott Wright, the video plays with all sort of wonderfully strange 90's-style effects as Sampha and Russell doing their thing in the stuido. Cameos from Tic, Brian Eno, Obongjayar, Ibeyi, Fabi Palladino, Peter Gabriel and Infinite Coles can be seen as well, in addition to vintage footage of the late Curtis Mayfield laying down the sample that's used in the song.
