The cassette has become the primary means of distribution in DIY punk scenes, while simultaneously becoming an Urban Outfitters-stocked novelty. Now, Eminem has announced that his debut album, The Slim Shady LP, will be released on tape, and it feels a little closer to the novelty end of the spectrum.

Em shared some specs on the reissue today, and from the looks of it, the cassette will feature a holographic cover, but other than that, looks like your run-of-the-mill 90s tape release. According to the rapper's site, some exclusive merch will be released at the same time, including a shirt that uses the LP's iconic font.
