If Dwyane Wade held the commissioner's vote, he sure as hell wouldn't waste it on himself, and he most certainly won't be suiting up at the 2019 NBA All-Star game, at the expense of a younger-more deserving player. "If I'm choosing an All-Star, I'm not picking me," he told the media, according to Ira Winderman, a journalist for the Sun Sentinel in Miami. "It's not an indictment on anything, but guys that deserve to be All-Stars will be All-Stars."

And on some level, Dwyane Wade is right. The notion of a "farewell tour" is a contentious one in NBA circles, and an issue Dwyane wants to avoid at all costs. "For the first time, I actually agree with Charles Barkley and what he said. It's a lot of guys that get their first chance to be All-Stars, and if they deserve it, then they deserve it and they should have those spots," he continued.

For all intents and purposes, Dwyane Wade might end up selected as a reserve, in a tributary gesture. The 3x NBA Champion has been an All-Star 12 times over the course of his career, his last appointment coming in 2016. Dwyane Wade, back with his beloved Miami Heat for the final stretch of his career, has said on record, that he has "One Last Dance" in him before he peters out. Basketball insiders believe he will entertain the idea of playing in China once his NBA career comes to a close.
