Drake’s album Views made its chart debut last week at number one on Billboard’s Album 200 Chart, silencing (or at least temporarily quieting) haters. He also grabbed the number one song on the Hot 100 for good measure (plus 19 other songs). One week later, Drake is still king of the charts with a number one album.

Despite his sales dropping a precipitous 70 percent after the first week (which is normal for any artist), Drake was still able to move 313,000 equivalent album units in his second week. In its first week on the charts, Drake’s Views sold over 1 million equivalent album units. In pure physical units, Drake sold 175,000 in his second week, down 79 percent from an astronomical first week of 852,000 physical sales. These numbers won't be reflected until Billboard releases their full report tomorrow.

Views is the first album released in 2016 to sell over 1 million units. Drake’s dominance has been helped by the addition of Spotify and Tidal streams, as his album was only available on Apple Music during its first week. It will be interesting to see if anyone can overtake Drizzy in a 3rd week. He’ll definitely be helped by his hilarious skits on “Saturday Night Live” while hosting the show, and his performances of “One Dance” and “Hype.” Can he live up to his declaration that he’d be on top “all Summer Sixteen?”
