It looks like all the hints and photos that Drake's been teasing us with over the past few weeks is about to come to fruition soon. On Thursday night, the 6 God made a surprise appearance during Majid Jordan’s set in Toronto, where he told the crowd he was back in town to finish his album and that he was dropping a new single Friday night as well.
“The reason I’m here tonight is because I’m back in the city finishing my album,” he told the hometown crowd. “I got a new single dropping tomorrow night too, just in case you got some free time.”
It’s unclear at the moment which song he plans to drop, but we know he’s got plenty of heat on the way. Last month during an Instagram Live session, he revealed that he was readying a new single with hit-producer Murda Beatz, before later teasing his album again by sharing another photo with the caption: “you can see the album hours under my eyes.”
When the single does arrive, it will follow Drake’s Scary Hours project, which featured “Diplomatic Immunity” and the smash hit “God’s Plan,” which has remained No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 weeks straight.
