In contrast to the many family gatherings this Thanksgiving Day, Canadian artist Drake was left to deal with the tragic passing of his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Sher. According to MTV News, Drake relayed the tragic news in a single tweet posted to his Twitter page.
Having canceled his Club Paradise tour stops in both North Carolina and Virginia, Drake had taken time to be with his ailing grandmother earlier this year.
Drake referenced his late grandmother on the Thank Me Later record “The Resistance” and she was also featured in a deleted scene from Drake's 2010 MTV documentary "Drake: Better Than Good Enough". On camera, Drake paid a visit to his grandmother in a nursing home shortly after inking his deal with Universal Motown/Young Money.
