The American Music Awards generally isn't a heavily rap-oriented awards show, however, the big wigs in hip hop generally do get a nod, and this year is no exception. Drake and Eminem earned multiple nominations, but Iggy Azalea, Beyonce, John legend and Pharrell showed up in the most categories.
Iggy, Drake, and Em will battle it out in both the Favorite Artist (Rap/Hip-Hop) and Favorite Album (Rap/Hip-Hop) categories. Chris Brown, Jhene Aiko, and Mary J. Blige also earned noms.
