Former Senator and Republican Nominee John McCain is not responding well to treatment for Brain Cancer. He has been staying at a Hospital near his Arizona ranch where his condition can be monitored around the clock. The situation has become so grave that he and his family have begun planning funeral arrangements. His closest associates have informed the White House directly that they want Donald Trump barred from the service.

John McCain and his family have chosen the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. as the location for the event. In his place, McCain has requested that Mike Pence assume the honor of representing the Oval Office. State funerals are often subject to tradition and etiquette, but the family of the deceased generally retain the right to make changes where they see fit. "Family" is after all, a value proposition we've tried our best to preserve.

Donald Trump feud with John McCain can be traced back to the early stages of the 2016 presidential race. John McCain criticized Trump's Mexican border strategy, not the himself. Three weeks later, Donald retorted by calling him "incompetent" and discredited his years of service in the military by insinuating he was never really a Prisoner of War in Vietnam.
